It is Bayside, off the Overseas Highway, mile marker 63. On this quaint island of Conch Key, you will get to step back in time - an island holding onto the way the Florida Keys used to be...quiet, relaxed, unpretentious, friendly, accommodating. Fishermen leave the island early in the morning and return around 4:00 in the afternoon. Walk to the boats and purchase fresh caught fish, lobster, stone crab claws. |
Conch Key is 1/3 of a mile in circumference. Talk with the fishermen for advise on "the good spots" for your own fishing excursion. Rent a boat from a local boat rental business and have the boat delivered to the Heronsrest's dock or trailer your own boat to the Florida Keys. Located on the island of Conch Key is a convenient store which has a boat ramp, ice, beer, bait -frozen and live, groceries, the famous Florida Keys' Key Lime Pie, fishing and diving supplies, and fuel at the marina.
Now, let me tell you a little about the Heronsrest Vacation Rental. This home is 2 bedroom, on the water, has a large dock, and views of the sunset. The home has a long driveway for parking 2 vehicles plus room for a boat trailer in the yard. We have 16 coconut palm trees, green buttonwood, banana tree, miniature fig tree, and a huge row of Pandanus Palm in the front of the house - so huge you can't see the home from the street. The tropical plants in the Florida Keys are beautiful and supply food for butterflies, hummingbirds, passerines, bees.
This is a non-smoking vacation rental - smoking is allowed on the porch.
